Courage
The honest conversation is usually the beginning.
Most difficult conversations become heavier while we carry them alone. In our heads, every possible response arrives at once.
The goal is not to control how the other person responds. The goal is to say what is true, say it with care, and leave room for what you may not know.
Start with the part you own. Speak plainly. Ask a real question. Then listen long enough to be surprised.
What truth could you say with both courage and kindness?
